Take your photography hobby to the next level

Okay let's say that you have your digital camera on your hand. And you already shoot many pictures, some of them stored on your PC's hard drive, and some on your external disc drive or on your digital memory card. You've took some nice pictures of everything that interested you. Pictures of panorama from your vacation trip, faces of people in different expression, occasional photo events that you've attended and all of those photos never been exposed to anybody, except you, your family and acquaintance that interested on your photos saw it. Some of them said that a few of your collections have a quality of professional photographer and maybe some of them encourage you to be a pro of your hobby or at least make some extra cash from it.

And then the thought of taking your hobby to the next level spinning your brain but you don't have any idea where to begin. You can surf through the net by typing "get paid to take photos" keyword. There are over 64 million sites that related to the keyword but only a few of them give you the free information about it. Almost all of them are affiliate sites or else a web page promoting that affiliate sites. Where do you find free and impartial make money from digital camera review anyway? I suggest web 2.0 sites have the answer like squidoo, digg , etc and of course blogs (like you're reading right now :P).
Here is some of the information that I gather from the internet, I hope it can answered your need.
  1. Be part time or professional photographer

If you are a photographer enthusiast you might be considered switching your hobby into your job (part or full time). You can still have fun with your hobby while you make a decent of income. The road maybe a little risky but you will enjoy the trip.

  2. Sell your photo gallery to the public

Some of your photo can be categorize as art photography, some people love to have photos which has a taste of an art, and in fact some of them collected it and equated it like oil painting collections. But you have to be well recognize art photographer or highly creative artist if you want make ridiculously large amount of money by this method.

  3. Make money taking photo online

Making money taking photo online can be simplified by 4 actions:

  • Take some photos
  • Upload them to online paid stock photo agency
  • Your photos get viewed or downloaded
  • Get paid for it

Here are the sites that I personally recommended:

Shareapic – The sharing site that gives back! In this site you'll pay if someone viewed your photo, the viewed image mean is when surfer click on your photo. You will pay $0.22 per 1000 views, you may think this is too cheap but you can earn more money by adding your Bidvertiser code on your photo and gallery pages.

Shutterstocks – Royalty-Free Subscription Stock Photography and Vector Art. In this site you'll pay if someone downloaded your photo or image that you have uploaded onto this site. You can get $25 cent per download and once you reach $500 in earning, they will raise your commission to $30 cent per download. Imagine if you have hot photo that everybody looking for how much money that earn a month, or do the math if your photo or image has minimum 200 downloaded a day, how much money that you'll earn in the end month. The earning is just from one photo or images, what if you submit 500 photos and it 20 downloaded a day minimum? Well, you do the countJ.

I hope the above information is helping you to pursue your goal in photography. I am sure that you need more explanation about how to monetize your photography hobby, I promise I'll post the info more detail on my next post.
